New year, new you! Bet you haven’t heard that one before. Or then again, maybe you have. Regardless of your feelings about New Year’s resolutions, it’s hard to deny that the new year is a perfect time to reflect on the past and look ahead to the future with inspiration. I’ve never been one to make new year’s resolutions in a drawn-out, dramatic way; however, I am a huge fan of setting goals and focusing on self-improvement. Rather than choosing one resolution, I want to share my top ten health tips I live by each day. I hope you might find inspiration in them for 2016!
Cure Your Cold With Astragalus
Seriously, go get some Astragalus right now! It is your cure for that annoying cold that simply won’t go away. As a teacher, I am susceptible to so many germs and viruses. This has been my life saver!
Work Out Your Way
Don’t get me wrong, I admire all the Cross Fitters who get up at the crack of dawn and pay an arm and a leg to keep their six packs toned and snatch form perfect. I wish I were one of them, but I simple cannot commit to that time and monetary commitment. Let me introduce you to my favorite free workout Online Fitness Blender. We have Apple TV and workout in the comfort of our home each morning! Now you can take pride in canceling your gym membership this new year 🙂

Pain Relief Without the Pills
Much to my dismay, I have developed a case of plantar fasciitis. This causes much pain and inflammation in my foot. Being that I don’t take pain medication, it has made for a rough few months, until I found Omron Electrotherapy. I do a 30 minute session each day along with my excercises and it has releived so much of my pain!
Free Yourself From Fungus
Whether you have chronic bladder infections like I did, a fungal infection, or just want to clean your fruits and veggies, Agrisept-L is here to save the day. Click Here to read about all the wonderful ways to use this special product.
Drink Green Tea
There are so many wonderful reasons to drink green tea, but when I developed a benign tumor this past year, I had an even better reason. Based on the research by David Servan-Schreiber in his book Anti Cancer, A New Way of Life, green tea is the black knight of cancer. I’ll let him do the rest of the explaining, but go get some green tea why don’t ya!
I won’t lie to you, washing your hair with homemade shampoo is simply not the same experience as washing your hair with your standard shampoo. The suds and smells are definitely not the same, but the positive effects far outweigh the negatives. I recently started using this simple recipe and am loving it! Mix up this simple concoction and keep it in a spray bottle. Keep in mind that the shampoo will not lather up, it is meant to massage into the scalp. Hope you like it as much as I do!
Shampoo: 1 Tbs. Baking Soda – 8 oz. Warm Water
Conditioner: 1 Tbs. Apple Cider Vinigar – 8 oz. Warm Water
Take Vitamin C
As an elementary school teacher, this is hands down my most beloved vitamin. Here’s a quick run down on the benefits of taking your daily dose of Vitamin C. This supplement has been know to be beneficial in the following areas:
- Protection against immune system deficiencies
- Cardiovascular disease
- Prenatal health problems
- Eye disease
- Skin wrinkling
- Disease prevention
- Reduces cellular DNA damage and inflammatory changes that allow malignant tumors to grow
Start off by taking 500mg daily, and don’t forget about your 5 servings of fruits and vegetables!
Help Your Heels
Seriously people, kick off those heels and slip into something good for your precious feet. Take it from the one who was wearing cute heels to work everyday, only to develop a bad case of plantar fasciitis that has caused me way more grief than a cute pair of shoes is ever worth. I have found a way to meet in the middle of “cute heels” and the “running shoe with everything” look that no one needs to stoop to. The answer is ProFoot inserts. Slip these cozy orthotics into your cute sandals, flats, and booties, and you are good to go. I’m on my way to healing my feet and hope you will do the same before it’s too late!
I love cleaning. Really, I do. It’s embarrassing to admit, but I almost cannot function in a messy space. When I decided to embrace a more holistic life style three years ago, I decided to invest in natural products, swapping my windex for lemon juice and baking soda. My two favorite brands are Meyer’s and Seventh Generation. I can’t even use regular cleaning product these days without my eyes burning and nose running! That’s enough reason for me to go all natural!
Wishing all of you a happy and healthy New Year!
