If I was forced to choose between comfort or style, I’m somewhat ashamed to admit I would probably choose style. haha. What about you? Do you value the look or feel of furniture more? This is one of the most challenging things about designing a space where you spend a lot of time. The look is important, but comfort shouldn’t be compromised.
When I designed our family room I was faced with this predicament. Do I select furniture based on its minimalistic simplicity, or go with something a bit bigger and comfier. Ultimately I went against my natural inclination and chose furniture that was created for comfort. Good news is I didn’t have to compensate on style and you don’t either! Today I’m rounding up chairs that blend the comfort of home with the style of a designer showroom. Hope you find something that works for you!
Creating A Comfy Corner
- Select furniture that is inviting and comfortable.
- Avoid overhead light and opt for lamp light instead.
- Make throw pillows and blankets available to snuggle up with.
- Place reading material within an arms reach. I prefer like coffee table books and magazines!
- Configure the furniture to accommodate a view or best lighting. Facing towards the room or an open window is best!
