Three Tips For Being A Better Hostess

This post is sponsored by The Company Store

The other day in my stories I joked about how my hostess capabilities have evolved over the past few years. Whenever guests come to visit it’s important to me that they feel comfortable and welcome in our home! To me that always meant a clean house and fresh greenery in every room… but I soon learned that’s not everyone’s love language. haha.

Jordan’s family lives out of town and comes to visit frequently, so I’ve had quite a few opportunities to refine my hostess skills. Here are some quick and easy tips I do to make our guests feel right at home!

1. Provide Clean and Comfy Bedding

If there’s one thing you and your guest have in common it’s that neither of you uncomfortable bedding! Providing quality bedding will allow your family and friends to enjoy a good night’s sleep and enjoy the comfort of home even while away. I just updated our guest bedding with the most gorgeous textiles from The Company Store. We use their bedding in our master bedroom as well and I can’t recommend it enough! The high-quality fabrics and affordable price points make them the perfect purchase in my opinion. Here are a few things we purchased for the guest bedroom:

3. Stock Up On Quality Bath Essentials

Providing fresh towels are a given, but make sure you have enough! I always stock up on extra hand towels so I can refresh them in the guest bathroom often. We have these ones in white and they’re so soft!

4. Buy Their Favorite Foods Ahead Of Time

This is a big one! I always ask our guests what they like to eat and make sure to have their favorites on hand. Providing snacks and meal time foods they like will make them feel welcome!

5. Clean The House And Fill Vases With Fresh Flowers And Greenery

Stop by your local grocery store and buy a bundle of fresh flowers or greenery! I also like to give the house a once over and have everything tidy before the guests arrive. My best kept secret though? Hire a cleaning crew to come in the day after your guests leave! I started doing this so I don’t get overwhelmed at having to clean the entire house while keeping up with everything else I have on my plate.
