Time for the living room makeover reveal! I recently surprised my sister and brother-in-law with a living room makeover and am spilling all the details today. This was such a fun project to do! I love creating spaces for other to enjoy, so I was happy to be able to repurpose some of my previously owned pieces and pair them with a few new ones to create this stunning space. It made it easy that the room has great bones with the gorgeous wood floors!
Here are some photos of the before! Like I mentioned earlier, we recently gave my sister and brother-in-law our sectional sofa, so all they needed were a few accents to pull the space together! Luckily they had a great foundation with the wood floors and neutral wall color (agreeable gray) which made the makeover quick and easy.
The Before
We teamed up with one of my favorite companies, Boutique Rugs, for this project! Thanks to Boutique Rugs, we were able to find an affordable and chic rug at a great price! We used the Yelm Area Rug for this space. They also offer the cutest home accents on their site as well, so we grabbed two knit throw pillows, a plaid throw blanket, and textured vase which pulled the whole room together so nicely.
From there we just added a coffee table, accent chair, picture ledge, and new curtains to finish the space! This project just goes to show a little can go a long way. I think the rug made the biggest impact in this particular space, but like any design, grounding the room with an area rug is essential to making it feel complete! Like I mentioned earlier, Boutique Rugs is one of my go-to stores for rugs. We have quite a few of their rugs in our home, and I’m always so impressed with the price, quality, and style! I’ll roundup the rug and accents we used for this project, and include a few of my other favorites too!
