Christmas Decor for Kids

Area Rug: Flintville Rug in 7’10″x10’10”

One of my most cherished memories as a little kid was decorating my bedroom for Christmas. My parents let my siblings and I decorate a mini tree and select a few items from the Christmas decor box. I always picked out this music box that had two sleeping mice in a bed under a plaid quilt haha.

I can vividly remember falling asleep to the glow of the Christmas lights outside my window and from the mini tree on my dresser. I’m certain it’s these types of memories that have fueled my passion for interior design, and that’s why creating a home that reflects the look and feel of the holiday season is so important to me. It’s not that holiday decor is what the season is truly about, but rather it adds to the moments we share during this time of year. Our homes are the backdrops for our memories!

Knowing how much I loved decorating my room as a little kid, I had to add a little holiday cheer to Weston’s room! I just added a few simple touches like the wreath, stockings, artwork, Christmas tree, and seasonal foliage. When Weston walked into the room he literally stopped dead in his tracks looking at everything and said, “Wooooowwww.” haha! I asked him if he liked it and he said, “Yeahhhhh.” Even though he isn’t really old enough to full understand the idea of Christmas, it was fun to see his face light up at the new decor in his room.

Here are some ideas to decorate for Christmas for your little ones!
