Holiday Style in the Guest Room

As of right now, we don’t have any guests coming to visit for the holidays. We are actually supposed to travel this Christmas to be with Jordan’s family in the PNW! But, just in case anyone decides to come stay, we are ready. 😉

To create a festive look in our guest bedroom I added lots of cozy layers on the bed, even styling a throw blanket on the headboard! Such a fun and easy way to give depth and dimension to your bed frame. I also added a few decorative accents like the mini Christmas trees, pinecones, olive stems, and a set of bells. All some of my very favorite festive accents!

If you’re wondering how to get the look of this bed, here is a step-by-step guide you can follow:

Bed Styling Guidelines:

Think of your bed like it’s divided into thirds. Style a layer in each section to create style and dimension!

1. Sheets: Put your favorite sheet set on your bed. Fold the top sheet down 1/3 of the way and tuck it under the mattress.

2. Quilt: Layer a quilt over your sheets. Fold it down 2/3 of the way and tuck it under the mattress.

3. Duvet: Place a duvet on top of the sheets and quilt. Pull the quilt down toward the end of the bed and fold it in half. Then, fold the top back again towards the top of the bed. This will create a ‘z’ and make the duvet nice and full at the end of the bed! This will be styled on the final third of the bed.

4. Throw Blanket: Lay a throw blanket at the end of the bed and over the headboard if you want!

5. Pillows: Place your longer pillows flat at the top of the bed, then style the decorative pillows in front. I used two 26″ shams, followed by two 20″ pillows, and one more 20″ pillow in the front.

Hope that helps! Have a great day, friends! 🙂
