One of the great things about the holiday season is the comfort and joy it brings to so many of us. Our homes are filled with the warmth of the fire, the glow of the twinkle lights, and the spirit of the season that’s presented through the décor we so joyfully display. This past week I got to spread a little added comfort and joy to a room that’s near and dear to my heart… my childhood bedroom!
Before
After
This is the space I grew up in. My sister and I shared a room for many years, which means this place is full of lots of love, laughter, and fond memories. I can vividly remember many precious moments spent here, especially at Christmas time. I enjoyed looking out the window at the Christmas lights and decorating our room with a mini Christmas tree and festive accents. I believe wholeheartedly that our homes are a foundation for memories to be made, which is one of the reasons I love to create spaces that cultivate a spirit of comfort and joy.
Recently, my mom mentioned how she would love to make this space the perfect place for the grandkids in our family. She was hoping to open up the floor space to make room for playtime, so I got to work on a design! For this room makeover, I partnered with one of my very favorite companies, Boutique Rugs! Boutique Rugs offers a wide selection of designer-look rugs and home accents at affordable prices. We have many of their gorgeous rugs in our home, so it was an easy choice to use a Boutique Rug in this space as well. The price and quality is simply unmatched, especially with my 60% off code KATIE60! 🙂
I was going back and forth between the Hoo Area Rug and Semaphore Area Rug. It was almost impossible to choose between them because they’re both so beautiful! Ultimately, I decided to go with the Hoo Area Rug for this space because it brightened up the carpeted area and blended well with the wood tones in the room.
Like I mentioned earlier, Boutique Rugs also has the best selection of home accents! For this design, I included a variety of their throw pillows, the Asheville throw, and Ballingry Mirror and I can’t get over how adorable each one is! The subtle details add the perfect finishing touch to the space.
I’m loving how the room is coming together, and my parents are pretty thrilled too! If you’re looking to add a little comfort and joy to your home this upcoming year, I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite finds from Boutique Rugs. Be sure to use code KATIE60 on your order for a discount!
