Outdoor Dining Set: Sorrento Dining Table

Holidays are so special, aren’t they? They allow us to gather in celebration of a common idea or cause, which is so inspiring! I’ve always loved holiday celebrations, and as I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized it’s because my parents put in a great deal of effort to make them special. Now that I’m a wife and mom, I want to do the same for my family!

We’ll be spending the holiday weekend at the lake with some friends. Looking forward to a fun getaway, but here are some tips to prep your home for the upcoming holiday if you’re hosting!

6 Simple Ways to Prep for the 4th of July

  1. Invite your kids to help you hang the American flag on your porch, or place mini flags around your yard!
  2. Incorporate patriotic colors in creative ways, like I did here with these blue floral plates! Love them against the wood on our Sorrento Dining Table from Castlery.
  3. Set the tone with mood lighting by lighting candles and hanging bistro lights.
  4. If you’re getting together with friends and family, prep as much as you can before they arrive so you can enjoy your time together. Doing small chores like setting the table ahead of time keep things running smoothly without taking time away from the celebration.
  5. Have sparklers on hand for the big day… these are always hit!
  6. Check to see if your city is having a firework show and make a plan to attend. Our local firework show is just about a mile from our house, so we always walk there and bring a blanket to sit on!

What am I missing? Let me know if you have any other good tips for prepping for the 4th of July! 🙂
