Elmwood Lake House Tour

Yesterday we announced our new adventure… the Elmwood Lake House! You can watch the announcement video here. As promised here’s a tour of our new home in its current state. These are the listing photos! It’s since been completely cleared out and is ready for renovation. I’ll be sharing our renovation plans in the next few weeks, but this gives you an idea of what the inside looks like now! What do you think, should we keep the brown carpet or nah? 😉

The exterior is simple and timeless. Originally, we were looking for an a-frame cabin, but when we toured various homes we ended liking a traditional layout much better. It just feels more open! The layout and location of the home are what sold us on it. It sits on top of a hill and backs up to a sea of pine trees. And we’re just one mile from the lake!

The deck wraps around half of the house, so there’s plenty of room for lounge seating and dining! There’s something so peaceful about sitting outside in the mountains. Listening to the wind rustle through the pines is nothing short of dreamy. Can’t you just picture this view in the fall and winter? It’s going to be so pretty!

A central living area with high beam ceilings and a fireplace were on my must-have list. It may not look like much right now, but this space will be a scroll stopper once it’s finished 😉

The kitchen and dining area are right off the main living area. Love this in a layout! It’s nice to be able to prep meals while still feeling like you’re part of the fun. The good news is the dividing wall isn’t load-bearing so we’ll be getting rid of the wall to create a larger kitchen! I’ll share more on that in a renovation blog post in the next few weeks…

There’s one bedroom on the first floor. This is the primary bedroom and bathroom and they’re just begging for a makeover don’t you think?

At the top of the stairs is a sweet sitting area, two bedrooms, and a bathroom. I’m envisioning myself doing some morning reading right here in this little nook.

The wood ceilings in the upstairs bedrooms and bathroom were such an added ounce of charm. I love the warmth and character they add to this space!

So can you see the vision yet? I’ll be sharing renovation details within the next few weeks! Stay tuned for more fun from the Elmwood Lake House 🙂
