Today’s the first reveal day for Elmwood Lake House! I’m starting with the kitchen and spilling all the details and how we renovated this space.

It’s hard to pick favorites, but I really do love how this space turned out! All of the colors and finishes ended up working so well together (thank goodness haha), and it’s so functional too. Win, win! Lots of space to cook and hang out, and a bonus that it’s open concept with the dining and living room so you don’t have to miss out on the fun while cooking.

Renovation Details:

You’ll notice we removed a wall and reconfigured the kitchen to pull off this design. Mostly it required centering the sink and range, as well as building out the wall in the back right corner to make the cabinets flush with the wall. My goal was to make everything look symmetrical and simple, and this layout achieved just that!

We still need to have our cabinet maker fix the space by the sink, and I’m seriously thinking about having him make those double doors for above the pantry and fridge. We’ll see… haha. And the only other thing we’re thinking of adding is a permanent island with barstools. At the time of renovation, it was hard to tell how much space we’d have for an island. The measurements weren’t looking right to me, so I went with a freestanding table for now. What do you think? Leave as is or do a larger, permanent one?

Countertops:

I couldn’t love our countertops more. The color and texture are PERFECT! These are the Taj Mahal countertops from ARC Surfaces. I had them finished in a leathered finish which means they’re matte rather than shiny, and also have a little texture to them! I prefer leathered over polished because they have more of a natural stone look and feel.

Paint Colors:

Walls: White Dove in 75% (eggshell)

Cabinets: Revere Pewter (eggshell)

Hardware:

All of the hardware in the lake house is from Emtek. Their products are simply the best! They have everything you need from door to cabinet hardware. For the kitchen, we used the wire pull, providence knob, and spindle appliance pull in their french antique finish. The french antique is the PERFECT gold color!

Appliances and Links:

You’ll notice our refrigerator is a panel-ready fridge which means it comes without a front and you add cabinet panels and pulls to make it blend with the rest of the kitchen. I’ve linked that here for you, and linked everything else from our kitchen below!
