Everything You Need to Know About Our New Amazon Curtains

A Quick Breakdown: The Amazon curtains I’m referencing throughout this post are linked here. I also want to note:

– Our ceilings are 8′

– I ordered the 90″ long panels in ‘Beige White’ (I went with the 52″ wide because that’s wide enough to close and cover our windows)

– The curtain rod is linked here and the rings are linked here

– We installed the center of the curtain rod bracket 12″ out from each side of the window and the height was determined based on how much we wanted the curtains to touch the floor. I wanted mine to just touch the ground but not pool! The handyman held up the curtain and I told him how high I wanted them to be hung. This is tricky because you have to take the curtain length, ring, and rod into account! With my 90″ panels we ended up hanging the center of the curtain rod bracket about 92 3/4 high.

Now for more details! 🙂

If you’ve been following along on my Instagram stories you may have seen a sneak peek of the Amazon curtains (in the color beige white) we just installed. For a long time, I had these Target curtain panels (in the color ‘sour cream’) which I absolutely LOVE. There’s a lot to love about both of these panels, but I opted for the Amazon curtains for two main reasons.

First, I wanted to showcase a new option for you guys! And second, I was ready to invest just a little more money into a panel that hangs in a clean, professional way… especially after having all our interior walls painted!

As I said, the Target curtain panel is truly wonderful. For the price, it simply can’t be beaten! There are a few main differences between that panel and the Amazon one. First is that the Target curtain does not have the pinch pleat, and therefore does not hang as straight and look as clean. I know they look very straight in my images, but it does take a bit of effort to steam/keep them straight, whereas the Amazon ones are perfectly straight right out of the bag! Second, the Target panel does not come in as many custom options as the Amazon one. The Amazon panel offers more colors, lengths, and widths so you can get exactly what you want!

Overall, they are both beautiful, but the Amazon ones are just a little more high quality and provide a professional/custom option without the price of a custom drape. If you have 8′ ceilings like me, this is good news! I always wanted a 90″ curtain so I could hang it higher and wider. Most standard curtains come in 84″ and 96″, which aren’t as ideal if you want to hang high and wide with a curtain ring and 8′ ceilings.

You might be surprised to know the average cost of a custom drape is $1,000 to $1,500 per window. So while you’re spending a little more on the Amazon panel, which is around $100, it’s still much less than a custom drape. So, you’re definitely getting a designer look for less!

I hope that helps answer some of your questions about our curtains! We did hang them in all our bedrooms too. I’ll try and get some photos of those up soon 🙂
