Our Kitchen Dimensions: Details That Blend Function and Style

You’ve seen the glow-up—now here’s the layout! When designing a kitchen, every inch counts, and we put a lot of thought into balancing function and style in this space. Whether you’re in the middle of your own remodel or just collecting ideas, we’re sharing the exact dimensions we used to help you plan smart and stylish. From the island size to the pendant height, these measurements made all the difference in creating a kitchen that works hard and looks great doing it.

Let’s talk island first—ours measures 86” wide by 56” long and stands at 36” high. It’s big enough to handle cooking, prep, and casual dining, but still allows for comfortable walkways: 43.5” on one side and 37” on the other. Above the island, the pendants are hung 31.5” from the countertop, a sweet spot that gives just the right amount of light without crowding the space. These spacing choices keep everything feeling open and easy to move through, especially during busy mornings or while entertaining.

Over at the range, the hood is 37” wide, with 27” of space between it and the countertop—perfect for both visual balance and safety. The countertops themselves are 24.5” deep, and we went with a 32” sink to comfortably handle everything from big pots to busy dish days. One of our favorite features? The oversized window—82” wide and 40” tall—which floods the kitchen with natural light and makes the space feel even more open and inviting. Hopefully, these details help guide your own design decisions and show that great style really does start with smart planning.
