Fall evenings are better spent outside. A little dessert, cozy layers and quality time with our favorite people is all it takes. Our patio furniture from Joss & Main has become the backdrop for so many of our favorite moments, from slow summer evenings to cozy fall nights, and I love having an outdoor space that feels like an extension of our home and brings us together all year long.

Our Joss & Main Patio Furniture
Our seating area is the Samya patio sofa, loveseat and lounge chairs in warm eucalyptus wood with thick cream cushions. They sit around a round concrete coffee table, which is the perfect spot for a dessert board on a cool night. The same collection comes as a long dining table and matching dining chairs, so the whole patio feels cohesive.
Against the wall we added the Vienna teak outdoor console. It holds desserts and drinks on family nights and a few fall pieces the rest of the time, with a wicker basket of throws tucked underneath.
How We Make the Patio Feel Like Fall
You don’t need a lot of decor to make an outdoor space feel cozy for fall. These are the few things that make the biggest difference for us:
- Warm lighting. String lights over the whole patio, tall lanterns with candles on the ground and black wall lanterns by the doors. Once the sun sets, it glows.
- Soft layers. A plaid throw and a faux fur throw on every seat, plus neutral pillows with a little olive stripe for fall color.
- One statement piece. The faux autumn dogwood tree by the console adds that red fall color without decorating every corner.
- A few natural touches. Golden eucalyptus stems, a white pumpkin and a faux olive tree keep it simple and organic.
- Something sweet. A wood board with cupcakes, cookies and sweet bites makes any night feel like an occasion.
