We’re Having A Baby!

We’re having a baby! I can’t even begin to describe how thrilled and excited I am to type those words! This has by far been the hardest secret I’ve ever had to keep and I’m so excited to share it with all of you today. Jordan and I are expecting baby Staples in May 2019 (May 2nd is the due date) and we feel beyond blessed to have been given this precious gift from God.

 

As of today I am a little over 14 weeks pregnant. I found out at about 3 weeks, so this has been hard to keep from you for the past 11 weeks! Eee! At the same time it’s been so fun to tell our close friends and family the news. We are soaking up every minute of this special time.

This is our first baby, obviously, so I wasn’t too sure what to expect! So far I have been feeling great. No morning sickness or crazy cravings, but that first trimester had me feeling VERY tired and lacking motivation. It took everything in me just to hop on Instagram stories now and then and sound the slightest bit peppy! haha. Didn’t help that I started school, tutoring three hours a day, AND a kitchen renovation the day after I found out! YIKES! That about killed me. Happy to report that now that I’m in my second trimester I’m feeling much more energized and back to being myself. Well, maybe still a little more tired than usual. But not too bad!

We’ve had two doctor appointments so far and everything looks great with our little one. We were able to see the baby moving and hear a strong heartbeat. Truly a moment Jordan and I will cherish forever! I’m not showing any real signs of a baby as far as the bump is concerned. I hear you often don’t show as early with your first, so I’ll just be over here waiting for the bump to arrive!

Another really fun part of the pregnancy was when I told Jordan the news! I ended up surprising him in a photo shoot that he thought was for our Christmas card. He was BEYOND shocked to say the least, but so excited being the baby lover that he is. He was ready for kiddos even before I was! What does this mean for the blog? Nothing really! I’ll continue to share home and lifestyle inspiration with all of you. I’m already working up a design for the nursery so I will reveal more of that as it comes together! I’m planning to have it all done a few months before the baby arrives in May.
