Our Article Sitka Sofa Review

I’ve wanted a new sofa in our family room for the longest time. About two years to be exact! We spend almost all of our time in our family room so a large, comfy sofa is practically a necessity! The first project on our list this year was a family room refresh. When I went to select a sofa, I was immediately drawn to Article’s Sitka sofa. The clean, modern lines are so striking. And on top of that, it’s large enough for multiple people to lounge on and comfortable enough to get lost in for an entire weekend.

Ordering online can be a bit nerve wracking when it comes to larger furniture pieces as it can be hard to tell the color and quality! One reason I felt comfortable ordering furniture from Article was because they have a flat shipping fee (and even free shipping on orders over $999). As well as a 30 day money back guarantee if you aren’t satisfied with your purchase. Luckily you won’t be needing that guarantee anyway… this sofa is one of the best available, I’m telling ya!

Last week, our sofa arrived in a large box, fully protected and packaged to perfection. As we unboxed it Jordan and I both looked at each other with all the heart eyes, it’s just so striking in person! We placed it as quick as possible so we could test the comfortability, and it did not disappoint. Not one bit! The cushions are a perfect blend of soft and firm. They hold their shape well, providing support and comfort no matter where you sit. If anyone can appreciate a well-built cushion it’s Jordan and I! Our last sofa did not hold its shape at all. Not long after sitting down our bums would be resting on the wooden sofa frame. haha! Needless to say, we are loving our new one. Both the appearance and function of this sofa are truly noteworthy.

This fabric sofa comes in three gorgeous colors. I opted for the sofa in white … surprise, surprise! But I do also love the other two color options. Each of them would be the perfect addition to any space. The neutral color and minimalist design gives so much freedom in decorating the rest of the room, which I love! I’m planning on pairing it with two cognac leather chairs that we’ve ordered and a coffee table that I’m still deciding on. Cannot wait to show you the rest!

FAQs

Does the fabric pill?

No! Thanks goodness. Our last sofa did this and it drove me crazy! The Sitka sofa is 18% Polyester, 57% Viscose, 10% Linen, and 15% Cotton. It’s the most beautiful blend of fabrics and does not pill or wear easily. It’s sturdy and soft at the same time!

Do the cushions hold their shape?

Yes! We sit on it every night and it holds it’s shape so well. I only flip the cushions about once a week, but even then they aren’t really showing signs of drooping or sagging. Everyone that’s come to our house has commented on how comfortable it is!

Is it easy to clean?

We had one minor spill already and I was able to wipe it off due to the durability of the fabric. Also, the cushion covers can be removed and cleaned if need be!

Hope you all love it! Thanks for stopping by today. Make sure to subscribe so you never miss a post or giveaway!

  1. I love this sofa and your neutral space! 🙂 We made the mistake of ordering a sofa from West Elm and it started pilling within just a couple of weeks! The sales employee said (before we committed, and was the reason we ended up buying it) that the “twill fabric is great for families and kids” …but has proved otherwise. :/ To be honest, I’d love to see another review of your Article sofa once you’ve had kids… that can make *all the difference* in how a sofa performs! I am afraid to take our covers off and put them in the wash because I am not totally trusting West Elm at this point. haha. 🙂 In the meantime I’ll peruse your blog and check out your wonderfully neutral spaces!
