Three Quick and Easy DIYs To Try Today

1. IKEA Medical Box

The other day I picked up a metal box set at IKEA and made two medical boxes out of them! I can’t find them online but I picked them up in the kitchen accessory section so you can find them there. The whole project only took me about 10 minutes and cost $8. I used 2 1/2″ pieces of electrical tape to make a Swiss cross on the large box, and 2″ pieces of electrical tape to make a Swiss cross on the smaller one. Simply cut the tape to size and stick it on! So perfect for kids’ rooms, kitchens, shelves, bathrooms, and laundry rooms.

I also picked these natural wood spice racks at IKEA the other day and hung them in the nursery as book shelves! They are truly the perfect color and such an adorable little shelfie. The shelves are just $5 each so this project cost us $10 and a few minutes to hang each one!

3. Wireless Wall Sconce

This was a huge hit when I posted our master bedroom the other day! I purchased these wall sconces on Amazon for just $36 each. I did buy the wall mount lights knowing I was going to use the magic light trick from Nesting With Grace. Here is what I did to hang the lights without wiring them into the wall!

  1. Purchase the sconces, battery operated puck lights, and this light socket adapter.
  2. Hang the sconces on the wall. You will not need to keep both metal bars inside the light. I just kept the vertical one so it would lay flush on the wall.
  3. Add batteries to the puck light and hot glue the puck light to the flat side of the light socket converter.
  4. Screw in the light socket converter to the wall sconce. You can push the light on or even grab the remote control from Amazon and manage your lights that way!
