Our Home Office Reveal

So excited to reveal our office today! Jordan and I have loved working here the past few days. It’s been really nice to finally have a designated work space! In case you need a reminder… here’s where we started!

We recently replaced the carpet with these COREtec floors in the color Calypso Oak and they already made the room feel so much brighter. Then I came up with a plan for the rest of the space and here’s what we ended up with!

When I was designing the office I knew I needed to keep it fairly functional. That’s why I decided to go with the cabinetry over French doors since they added two additional working spaces. They also added a little extra storage which is nice! The cabinets allowed me to create the additional working space which means Jordan and I can work in the office at the same time. This was important since he works from home the majority of the time!

I went with vertical ‘shiplap’ in this space to give it a modern studio look. I love the way it makes the room feel so big and bright! My contractor had MDF boards milled to look like 6” shiplap panels. So they aren’t even individual panels at all, but rather MDF boards milled to look that way. He had them milled at a local lumber yard. This was a more cost effective way to get the look we were going for.

The entire room was sprayed in Sherwin Williams pure white. The walls were painted in a satin finish, and the doors and cabinets were painted in a semi-gloss. I love the way it turned out. It’s super bright white and doesn’t have any outstanding undertones!

A lot of the furniture and decor is from Amazon since I wanted to create an affordable office inspiration for all of you! The desk is such a steal. We have the medium size and it’s under $100! The two chairs at the back desk are more of a splurge, but SO worth it in my opinion.

I know many of you are interested in office organization and how I’m going to hide cords, so stay tuned for that! We still haven’t gotten a monitor for the office so we’re both on laptops at the moment. And all of our paperwork is still bagged up from the renovation so there’s not much organization to show! 🙂 I’m currently on the hunt for a file cabinet, printer, and a few other organizational bins and baskets. I’ll be sure to post about it once it’s finished.

Can’t wait to hear what you think! Thanks for stopping by the blog today. Make sure to subscribe here so you never miss a post or giveaway!

  1. Looks amazing! Just curious about the white chair as the ones you have linked are different . .. do you have a source for that specific chair?
