Pillow Combinations For Every Couch Color

Throw pillows are loved by many and loathed by some (cough. cough. hubbies). But whether you love or loath them there’s just no way around it… they’re an essential part of every room! Well, minus the bathroom and kitchen I suppose. Living rooms, family rooms, bedrooms, and entryways provide the perfect backdrop for displaying these pretty cloth squares. Pillows add dimension, color, and texture to a room and also give personality to the space.

Whether you’re looking to update your decor for the new season or are simply craving a mini makeover, throw pillows are an easy way to shake things up a bit. Since mixing and matching can be a challenge, I’ve made some pillow combinations for you to shop below! But first, here are a few answers to some commonly asked questions:

Pillow Q+A

Q: What size are your pillows?

A: All of my pillows are 20X20″.

Q: What size and type of insert do you use?

A: All of my inserts are 20X20″ and I use feather inserts which I’ve linked below. It is recommended to go up one size when purchasing polyester inserts for outdoor pillows.

Q: How do you store your pillows?

A: I purchase pillow covers so they don’t take up a lot of space! I fold them Marie Kondo style and keep them in a basket in our linen closet 🙂

  1. I have a 70s retro burnt orange sectional, it’s absolutely beautiful and makes a statement on its own. I have recently switched my color scheme to neutral and with touches of greenery which I love, but my question actually involves the arrangement of pillows. Since it’s a sectional should I get 2 sets of the same pillow and put one on each of the farther ends and bring the patterns to the center? If that makes sense. Or do I completely randomize and just pick out similar neutral patterns and put them wherever and how do I stage in the middle of the sectional where the two corners meet, the point of the ”L” thanks!
