New Project Announcement

The other day I took a poll and asked if you wanted to see a bathroom, laundry room, or front porch makeover. I think I might have swayed the results a bit when I showed the bathroom countertops going up to Jordan’s kneecaps and the shower head at chest level. Haha!! After a mini internal debate I’ve finally decided and even settled on a contractor, so we’re moving right along!

Drum roll please… our next project will be the FRONT PORCH! I’ve been wanting to tackle this project for quite some time and am so excited to get started. I chose this options for a few reasons so allow me to explain. To state it simply… it’s the cheapest, easiest, and fastest project option! Haha. I just don’t think I’m up for an in-home renovation with a baby, the holidays, and going back to work. That would for sure put me over the edge 😉

I also chose the front porch makeover because I’ve always wanted to style a front door for Christmas! I’m hoping it will be done in time to style it for my favorite season. Here’s a little sneak peek at the decor I plan to use!

The Plan

The plan is to paint the brick white, install a new front door, and add wood accents above the windows and garage. Currently debating if I should do a natural wood or painted door. I’ll need it to add contrast with all the white so let me know what you think! Hoping to go pick out a new door this weekend and then we can start the project based on that delivery date, so I’ll keep you posted on the progress!

  1. Katie, Your style is so excellent! Congratulations on your lil man. I’m old – so forgive me for asking in the “wrong” spot! I wondered how you are liking your Coretec Calypso Oak floor by now with living with it. We are in the same situation – need to go over existing floor, etc. But I’ve heard mixed reviews on the finish. Just wanted to get your “real world experience”. I appreciate any feedback you have for us! Thank you! L

  2. Love what your thinking!!! I have a brick Tudor home and I also want to paint it white/shade of white. I’m just too nervous to jump in and do it. Even though I love all the Tudor homes I see painted. We are still renovating the inside so I have time to get over my anxiety about it. Lol.
I love your home and all the shopping picks you put up. Thank you! You definitely give me inspiration with all your posts!
