Neutral Christmas decor is my favorite way to decorate for the holidays! 🤍🎄
Lots of greenery, soft whites, warm wood and candlelight make our home feel festive without feeling busy, and so many of these pieces come back out year after year. Here are the neutral Christmas decor ideas I keep coming back to, room by room: the mantel, the entryway, a living room console, a candlelit cabinet, the kitchen, the dining room and our bedroom. Everything is linked below each photo, so just swipe through to shop!

The Simple Formula for Neutral Christmas Decor
A neutral Christmas doesn’t mean all white. It’s really about a calm palette and lots of texture, so the room still feels warm and cozy. These are the five things that make it work:
- Green, cream and warm wood. Let real-looking greenery be your “color” and keep everything else soft: ivory, oatmeal, brown and a little brass.
- Greenery in multiples. Garland, stems, wreaths and potted trees repeated from room to room tie the whole house together.
- Texture over color. Knit stockings, linen, velvet ribbon, ceramic and wood keep a neutral space from feeling flat.
- A warm glow everywhere. Flameless candles, fairy lights and tea lights on timers do so much on dark winter evenings.
- One vintage touch. A framed pine tree print or a few antique-style pieces make new decor feel collected.
1. A Garland and Knit Stockings on the Mantel

Our holiday mantel is my favorite part of the living room 🤍 Greenery, our stockings and the tree art above the fireplace are all it needs. There’s no color scheme to match, just layers of texture against the stone. For a full, lush look, layer two garlands or tuck in a few loose stems, and use heavy stocking holders so everything hangs evenly.
2. A Festive Entryway Console That Still Feels Simple

A potted tree, glowing ceramic houses and a framed tree print make our entryway console feel festive and still simple. Setting the little houses on a stack of coffee table books gives them different heights, and a bowl of ornaments adds a little shimmer. Battery tea lights with a built-in timer inside the houses mean they glow every evening without you having to think about it.
3. Lit Garland and White Trees on a Living Room Console

On the console under our arched mirror, lit garland runs the full length with white paper and ceramic trees tucked in at different heights. It reads soft and wintery instead of loud, and it glows so pretty at night. Wrapping battery fairy lights through a faux garland is an easy way to get this look on any sideboard or console table.
4. Flameless Candles and a Vintage Pine Print

Candlelight is the easiest way to make a neutral space feel warm ✨ Clear glass flameless candles on a stack of books, a framed pine tree print and a pot of Norfolk pine greenery turn the top of a black cabinet into such a cozy corner. Look for candles with a remote and timer so they turn on by themselves every evening, and group them in odd numbers at different heights.
5. A Little Greenery in the Kitchen

A little greenery and a few warm wood pieces are all our kitchen needs for the season. A garland over the window, a big vase of branches on the island and our woven counter stools keep it cozy without the clutter, and the counters stay clear for baking and everyday life. Glass vases, a mini wreath and a few cedar stems are easy to tuck in wherever you have a spare corner.
6. Greenery Down the Table and a Wreath on the Cabinet

Our holiday dining room with the black hutch is still one of my favorite setups 🖤 Greenery down the table, a big wreath on the cabinet, tall taper candles and our slipcovered chairs. That’s really it! Keep the garland low so you can still see everyone across the table, and flameless tapers are a great swap if you have little ones running around.
7. A Cozy Neutral Christmas Bedroom

Our Christmas bedroom is all about garland on the headboard, warm neutrals and the softest layers. Linen bedding, blush and brown pillows and a throw at the foot of the bed make it feel festive but still calm, which is exactly what I want in a bedroom this time of year. If you only add one thing, make it the garland: it instantly says Christmas without any extra decor.
