Our Gender Reveal

A few weeks ago Jordan and I announced that we’re having a baby! In case you missed it, make sure to check out this post where I gave Jordan the surprise of his life 🙂 Sharing our news with all of you was so much fun. I can’t even begin to tell you how grateful we are for all your thoughtful and encouraging messages. We enjoyed reading every single one. You were truly a blessing to us!

Since then I have been feeling great! The first trimester was a little challenging with the exhaustion, nausea, and food aversions, but I have no complaints about trimester two! Jordan checks my belly about twenty times a day looking for any sign of the baby bump 🙂 It’s definitely coming in, but nothing to write home about just yet!

Well today we wanted to share some even more exciting news… We’re having a BOY!!! Eee! Can you believe it?! When I took a poll a few days ago in my Instagram stories the majority vote was girl. Many of you said it was because you were hoping to see all the cute clothes I would buy for a little girl. haha! While buying bows and darling dresses would definitely be fun, we are over the moon that we’re having a boy.

It was the weirdest thing. The second I found out I was pregnant I just knew we were having a boy! Every time I pictured our sweet baby I always envisioned myself holding a little boy. I found myself looking up names and clothes for little boys. When my mom and two close friends were convinced I was having a girl, I started second guessing myself for sure… but the gender reveal eventually confirmed my strong conviction!

Back in October Jordan’s family was in town so we decided to book an early gender detection ultrasound. Both our families went and watched our baby do flip after flip as the technician tried to get the best views to detect the gender. After looking at two specific angles, she was convinced she knew the gender, and her twenty years of experience had me pretty convinced she was right. We had her write it down on a card and place it in an envelope… the suspense about killed us!

The next day we had a few friends and family over for a gender reveal party. I’ve always thought gender reveals were so much fun, so I knew I wanted to have one when the time came! It’s such a fun way to celebrate the exciting news. I did a neutral “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” them and tied in pops of pink and blue with the silver and gold. We purchased blue and pink poppers and had them in separate boxes. One of my friends (who is due with her baby boy in January!) volunteered to read the gender card and pass out the correct poppers to everyone. Once they were all passed out we counted down from ten and revealed the most exciting news of our lives… we’re having a BOY! I’m still just as excited as the moment I found out. If you watch the video you can tell Jordan is quite excited as well 😉

As of yesterday I am officially 19 weeks along. Everything seems to be going well with baby Staples so far, and we’re continuing to pray for God’s blessing on this little life. We have a name picked out already but will be sharing it once he’s born. Now it’s on to the nursery design! I have it all planned out and am hoping to have it finished by the end of February. Make sure you subscribe to Halfway Wholeistic if you don’t want to miss any of the posts or updates!

As always, thanks so much for taking the time to stop by. So fun to share this exciting time in our lives with all of you!
